Organisational Structure

A dedicated team of professionals, elected annually, steers QMG towards its core goals under the ongoing guidance of Rev. Maharagama Kumara Kashyapa Thero, a respected Buddhist monk with profound knowledge of Theravada teachings and practices. As a non-profit organization, QMG operates through generous support in the form of both financial contributions and volunteer efforts.

Since its humble beginnings in 2018, QMG has raised over $1.1 million in assets. This achievement is a testament to our strength and the continuous support from our community in driving QMG towards its key goals. These assets, along with ongoing charitable donations, are strategically allocated to ensure the long-term viability and sustainability of QMG.

We envision a vibrant and compassionate community where the teachings of Theravada Buddhism and the practice of Vipassana meditation are accessible to all. By 2029, our aim is to establish a thriving Buddhist temple in Queensland, serving as a beacon for those seeking deeper wisdom, ethical living, and communal harmony.

Our Library

The Tripitaka, also known as the Pali Canon, is the foundational scripture of Theravada Buddhism and holds immense significance in Sri Lankan Buddhist tradition. It is a vast collection of teachings attributed to the Buddha and is divided into three main sections, each serving a distinct purpose in guiding practitioners on the path to enlightenment.

Theravada way of spiritual development engage in social, cultural, religious work of a devotional nature and enhance mental wellbeing through Samatha (concentration) and Vipassana (insight) meditation based on traditional Buddhist teachings.
